Welcome Letter January 2010

Dear NNEAPS Members,

Greetings for the New Year!

It will be an honor to have the opportunity to represent the membership for the next two years as President of the Northern New England Association of Personnel Services.

Your Board of Directors meets on a monthly basis to represent the membership and ensure that the value of your participation in our association is a sound investment.

This month's meeting focused on plans for a year long series of educational programs. Once again, we look forward to bringing you and your staff a wealth of training from some of the industry's top speakers and trainers.

We look forward to welcoming Mike Gionta, of TheRecruiterU.com on March 4th. From training products, teleseminars, a recruiting "coaching club" featuring industry all-stars to group and one-to-one coaching, TheRecruiterU.com has solutions for owners seeking knowledge and growth. Upcoming information for that event will be forthcoming - mark your calendars for that. I personally have seen Mike speak at another state conference and can guarantee you it will be one of the most enlightening training events you and your staff will experience.

There are plans in place to bring back the Employers Panel in the Fall as well as a seminar directed toward the Staffing Industry. As always, we welcome your input on any topics you may like to see covered by our programs.

Back by popular demand this year will be our Owners Retreat and the Annual Meeting/Texas Hold 'em Tourney. If you have never attended one of these events, make this year your year to join us. Two very social events, it's a great opportunity to network with other members outside of the competitive climate.

I'm pleased to say we have five very dedicated members this year on our Legislative Watch Committee. It's sure to be an active year with issues covering LLC status, Health Insurance and various changes in the state labor laws that these individuals will proactively campaign in the membership's best interest.

We will continue to have our newsletter going out on a quarterly basis. All members are welcome to submit news, articles, member update, etc. to be included in the newsletter to Dana Hooper at dhooper@haywardhooper.com.

Our website is in the process of being updated regarding your membership renewal. Please review the site to ensure your member information is listed correctly. I understand our web hosting company is currently making some changes to their server. If you are unable to access some details at the present time, please check back. The server upgrades should be corrected shortly.

Our Lending Library has been adding new training materials to its inventory. Details regarding use of this valuable resource can be found on our website at www.nneaps.org.

Each month there is a NAPS sponsored State Leaders Call with Directors from all over the country contributing to topics current to the industry. I will be participating in these calls whenever possible and will bring to you any information that may be pertinent to the membership.

Lastly, mark your calendars for the Annual NEAPS Conference which will be held May 6-8th at the beautiful Waters Edge Resort in Westbrook, CT. There are a limited number of rooms for lodging so make sure you book your reservation early for the resort. Check out www.neaps.org for updated information as the dates get closer. I have personally attended these conferences for over 15 years and can honestly tell you they are the same caliber as the national conferences. Invest in training in 2010.

Don't ever hesitate to contact me with any needs you may have. I will happily refer you to the appropriate director if I cannot assist you personally.

Best Wishes for a Prosperous New Year!

" In just the past few years my recruiters have made more placements because of the training they have received from speakers like Danny Cahill, Peter Lefkowitz and many others that NNEAPS have brought in to the membership."
